Steak Dinner for Two

Steak Mushroom pic1

It is one of those steak house dinners we all have dreamed occasionally. We want grease, we want taste, and we want food. I ooh and aah at the big and juicy steak commercials every time and how I wished I was there. So who is standing between me and a piece of meat? It is the green police who says red meat is bad for me because he can’t have any.

Well, nobody can live forever even if we eat rabbit food all the time. I allow myself to eat what I want once in a while. Making a steak dinner at home is easier than I thought. It took less than 30 minutes to make dinner and we ate it in 15 minutes. The whole meal was amazingly enjoyable, we loved it.

Steak Dinner for Two

Season steak generously with salt and black pepper, a little bit garlic powder if you want. In a nonstick hot skillet with 1 tablespoon oil, sear steak over medium high heat. Cook one side until lightly brown, turn to another side, cook until brown. Repeat until both sides are perfectly brown and meat is at an internal temperature of 150 to 162 degrees, that’s well done. Dish up and cover with tin foil to keep warm.

In the same steak pan with the remaining steak grease, add mushroom, onion, garlic, fermented black beans and bell pepper. Quickly stir fry over high heat, season with salt and black pepper. Add soy sauce and oyster sauce, stir well. Cook until tender but still crisp, add sesame oil. Toss, toss, serve with steak and steamed rice. What a dinner, we love it. This is our New Year Dinner from now on.
