Ginger Lemon Tea (檸檬薑茶)

Ginger Lemon Tea

Technically this is more like a drink than a tea. But no matter what you call it, this is a wonderful home remedy anybody can make during those nasty sniffing, coughing flu and cold seasons. This all-natural remedy can soothe your sore throat, help keep the immune system strong, calm your stomach and ease your aches and pains.

Anyone who knows how to boil hot water can make this tea. There is no recipe to remember, no rules to follow. Boil a few cups of water on the stove, add a few slices of fresh ginger. Let the liquid boil for a few minutes on medium heat, then add honey and fresh lemon juice to flavor the tea. Turn off the heat, let rest for 5 to 10 minutes before serving this delicious, soothing tea. It tastes good either hot or cold.

But why wait until you get sick to enjoy the tea when you can have it anytime you want. In the summer I often make enough to last 2 or 3 days and keep it in the refrigerator. It helps clean the palate after eating salmon or other fish. Well, it is a lovely tea after all. Cheers!
